The following features of our Tire
Carrier cannot be noticed in pictures but are benefits you should
consider before buying a Tire Carrier for your H2. Our Tire
Carrier is approximately 20 pounds heavier due to the quality
materials and design features not found in many other tire
carriers. We use a 3/4" thick steel plate to mount the
hinge and license plate bracket. This eliminates vibration
noticed in other units on the market. A real handle and not
recessed loops, paddle latches or pins that is retained by 6
Stainless Steel Screws. The handle is very useful for
opening the carrier once it is unlatched. A protected
positive stop when opening the carrier helps to prevent pinching
your fingers.
Our carrier, instead of being
mounted under one tow hook, has a plate that extends clear across
to behind the other tow hook. This keeps the carrier aligned
and provides full support when it is closed and also eliminates
rattles. The arm that carries the tire is positively
retained in the bushing by a washer and bolt. Hardware is
supplied to mount the jack inside your H2 including a vibration
dampener to keep it from rattling. Also included is a plug
to fill the hole at the rear of your H2 where the bracket was mounted.
Our license plate light is wired so it will plug directly into the
factory plug with 2 lead wires. Others just have 1 wire that
has to be spliced into the wiring. And, our license plate
bracket does not interfere with the tow hooks. Factory sized
lug nuts are included so your factory lug wrench can be used.
